Kitten Visit
Our Kitten Visits
A kitten visit to the veterinarian is an essential step in ensuring your new furry friend starts off on the right paw for a healthy life. Here is an overview of what typically happens during this initial visit:
Kitten Exam
Our kitten visits begin with an overall wellness exam. Our veterinarians will complete a full physical exam on your kitten. We will work with your kitten to help them feel relaxed and desensitized to the exam process. We will assess your kitten’s unique needs. We will also provide a complimentary nail trim if needed.
Kitten Vaccinations
Depending on the age and previous vaccination history, our veterinarians will administer the first set of vaccinations to protect against common diseases such as the Feline Leukemia vaccine and the Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia rabies (FVRCP) vaccine.
Kitten Lab Testing
Our kitten package includes a fecal intestinal parasite screening. Intestinal parasite screening involves analyzing a kitten’s stool sample to detect the presence of intestinal parasites, which can cause various health issues. Common parasites that affect kittens include roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms, and protozoa like Giardia and coccidia.
You will be asked to collect a fresh stool sample from your kitten, ideally within 24 hours of the appointment. The sample should be stored in a clean, sealed container and kept cool if there's a delay in bringing it to the vet. If any parasites are detected, we will offer a free dewormer for your kitten
Kitten Pack
At the end of your visit, your kitten will receive a kitten pack. Our kitten packs include a free sample of Heartworm prevention and a free sample of flea and tick prevention. Our pack also includes a free bag of treats, a toy, and some informational materials.
We Would Love To Meet Your Kitten!
Our kitten exams are typically in a series of three visits. The first visit is typically at weeks, then twelve weeks, and finally, at sixteen weeks. Our kitten visit is a comprehensive evaluation to ensure your kitten is healthy and to provide you with the necessary information to care for them properly. Regular veterinary visits are crucial for maintaining your kitten's health and catching any potential issues early.
