A New Home and Healthy Skin

This week we wanted to highlight a dog with an incredible recovery dog who happens to belong to one of our Veterinarians, Dr. Anderson. Herman is a Doberman Pinscher who is very active and loving.

Herman was a patient whose owner could no longer care for him. Herman had developed Pemphigus Foliaceous, a rare autoimmune condition that causes itchy blisters and sores to form on your skin. Dr. Anderson took Herman in as a foster to help treat his condition, with the intent of helping him find a new home after his recovery. Herman did not respond well to traditional treatments, so Dr. Anderson brought him to Dr. Roach. Dr. Anderson and Dr. Roach worked together to change Herman's diet, provide acupuncture, and give Chinese herbs. The holistic treatments Herman received helped his skin look almost like new! Dr. Anderson shared, "By the time Herman was feeling better, I was attached and he was my dog." Dr. Anderson adopted him soon after his recovery. Herman is currently doing great and is maintained only by his diet and Standard Process supplements.
